Having bridal portraits taken before your wedding is not necessary, but over the years, I've learned that it does relieve some stress and time on your wedding day.  With a bridal session, you'll have the opportunity to ensure that you love your hair and makeup, are satisfied with the style of your bouquet, get more comfortable with your wedding venue, and finalize your "bridal look." With this 1-hour session, we will capture you and your wardrobe and accessory details, giving us more time on your wedding day to focus on the other important details of your big day.

I suggest your bridal portraits be taken at your venue so your photos feel like they were taken on your wedding day. In my experience, most venues will give you access to the space on a weekday when there are not events scheduled. Some brides do take this time to get photos at another location they love though, and that's totally okay!

The best time to take bridal portraits is 4-6 weeks before your wedding. With this timeline, I can get photos back to you for wedding day use and allows ample time to make any hair, makeup, or accessory changes, if needed.

Celebrate! I usually recommend making a date night out of the evening since your hair and makeup will obviously be stunning, but we can also plan to add on a boudoir session to kill two birds with one stone. This would only require doing the bridals first and earlier in the day. Example: bridals at 10am, boudoir at 1:30pm.

06. What do brides do after bridals?

Absolutely! These will be uploaded to your gallery, and then password protected. I will then email the link and password to you.

05. Do the photos stay private until the wedding?

Yes! A helping hand is always appreciated and welcomed. Most usually bring their moms and/or maid-of-honors. They usually help you get in your dress, hold the bouquet when it's not needed, and it's a great chance to practice bustling.

04. Do I need to bring anyone with me?

Although I do think it's a great way to see the full look all together, bridals are also a good opportunity to sport a completely different style. I opted to do an up-do for bridals, and ended up liking it so much that I changed my plans entirely for the wedding.

03. Do you always recommend doing the same hair and makeup?

Honestly, it's been about 50/50. Some will have them printed and give to the mothers as a surprise, some display canvases at the reception, and some just want them for funsies. It's totally up to you!

02. Do other brides usually display their photos at the wedding?

Bridals will usually give you at least 60 images that will showcase multiple spots around your venue. If we do these on the wedding day, you may only get 5-10 of just you, and usually these are only done in one spot.

01. What's the difference photo-wise of having bridals vs doing pics the day of?
